about

After having contributed to my COVID-? collaborative project Killick Hinds suggested that I make a duet album with him.
It got me enthusiastic and I thank him very much for the invitation.
Killick follows his own way off the beaten track, which I particularly love. It was very exciting to work with his strange and beautiful harpguitar sounds.
CV

Christian Vasseur is an extraordinary musician and conceptualist from France. It is an honor to present our collaboration, realized over several months of creation. I think we both had a sense this would be special. I'm playing my 38 string harp guitar called Big Red, and Christian is playing his 11 string alto guitar called Michelle. The unusual voicings and resonances interact in surprisingly warm ways. It's highly visual and evocative...each listen for me is more rewarding, a comprehensive reminder of why music is so captivating, so important, and so needed. (I'm also pleased the cover image is a family project with my wife Delene's starry backdrop and my brother John's timeless gyotaku fish print.) I hope this finds you safe and well and making things better. Thanks as always for listening.
