In Pictures at an Exhibition, the Russian composer Mussorgsky imagined in music the journey of a visitor in a gallery where ten paintings by his friend Hartmann were exhibited.
I took up this idea by using texts written by people with illiteracy following their visits to various museums.
I recorded their voices saying these texts without erasing any of their roughness or clumsiness.
The object seen, looked at, is an entry into the world. The horizon widens, we leave the museum to go beyond and visit the world. The steps are faster, a kind of stress appears alongside the desire for discovery, we are surprised, we are afraid, we laugh.
The interjections are the traces of an original language, the sound fossils of a great primitive sensual poem.
Oh ! is a sound comic with fragile and courageous characters, fearful and reckless, rather left out but who have a loud voice.
